Acacia lives in the beautiful town of Canmore, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, with her family.
Acacia has owned horses since the age of two and has been competing avidly since twelve in performance and Equitation. Having worked with world class trainers such as Nancy and Bill Becker and George Borcherds, her career in competitive saddle seat has blossomed.
This is Acacia's second World Cup proudly riding for Team Canada. Acacia's most memorable experience was following the 2008 World Cup in South Africa. Both Acacia and Samantha McWade (a fellow team mate and friend) were invited to stay in SA after the competition, with trainer George Borcherds, of Middelburg , South Africa, where they worked, trained and showed with George. Acacia's highlight was winning the 5 Gaited Equitation Championship in Philippolis, by unanimous decision of all 3 judges.
Acacia continues to show her 5-Gaited Gelding (Seek and Destroy) successfully in the 5-Gaited division in Alberta, under the direction of her trainer Lynne Redmond-Dorcas. "Sarge" and Acacia were the 5 Gaited Open Reserve Champions in 2009 at the Western Canadian Championship Show. Acacia is excited to be on the Team again and is looking forward to her fourth trip to Kentucky!
